Once you get two feet into blogging, you soon find that there are blogs that you wish to keep up with. Your class may be tracking the progress of the hurricane season by following the NOAA website at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/. Instead of hitting the site every day in hopes of finding something, you may find that using an RSS news aggregator to pull in new feeds for you would be helpful. Any time NOAA updates their site, your aggregator automatically pulls in the new information and alerts you.

I trained a lot this summer with different web 2.0 tools and teachers are finding a number of different ways to publish online. Using their new aggregator, they are now able to keep up with the other teachers who are also publishing online.

To facilitate the introduction of news aggregators, or feed readers, I created a two page help sheet to get one started. Feel free to download and use it.
